More Information on our Cycling and Walking Tours in the vineyards of Umbria

Typically, on a half-day Tour, you would take a cycle or walk through the vineyards around Montefalco and Bevagna, stopping off at a couple of wineries on the way, to sample some of their wines. The circular vineyard walking route starts and ends near Montefalco and should take around 4 hours at a leisurely pace. The walk passes mainly along unmarked paths through the heart of the vineyards but does not involve any real hill climbs so should be suitable for almost all ages and abilities.
The Montefalco area (which is within easy reach of Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto and Todi) produces the excellent Sagrantino di Montefalco, one of only two Umbrian wines to be awarded the prestigious DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita –the highest Italian wine appellation) in both secco and passito (sweet dessert wine) forms, the Rosso di Montefalco DOC (produced from a combination of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Merlot grapes) as well as Grechetto and a number of other wines.
